·  Case Study (2): How to check No. of HSDPA users during the throughput testing period?

We have to check the no. of HSDPA users during the throughput testing period and record in the commissioning report, please use the following procedure 
to get the no. of HSDPA users.

Containment (MOM based)> NodeBFunction=1> Iub=80866> IubDataStreams=1> noOfCommonStreams

No. of HSDPA users = noOfCommonStreams - 4 x no. of cell enabled

·  Case Study (1): Lost of Connectivity in Mub during 2100MHz RBS SIU Cutover

Background: After cutover of 2100MHz RBS to SIU, RBS Engineer (Jacky) or PRAN Engineer (Edward, Michael, etc) may inform you that the connectivity of Mub is not OK.
 
Procedure:
1) Get the default router 0 IP address:
Containment (MOM based) > ManagedElement=1 > Equipment=1 > Subrack=1 > Slot=1 > ExchangeTerminalIp=1 > GigaBitEthernet=1 > IpInterface=2
 
 
2) Ping the default router 0, for example:
Containment (MOM based) > ManagedElement=1 > IpOam=1 > Actions > Ping
Input the "default router 0" got from step 1) to host, then execute.
 
If the result is "alive", go to step 3
If the result is "not alive", check SIU and RBS configuration, then ping again. (You may refer to Appendix for SIU configuration checking.)
 
 
3) Check "vLan" and "vid"
Containment (MOM based) > ManagedElement=1 > Equipment=1 > Subrack=1 > Slot=1 > ExchangeTerminalIp=1 > GigaBitEthernet=1 > IpInterface=2
 
If vLan is true and vid is correct, check SIU, RBS and PRAN configuration and ping again.
If vLan is false, please set vLan as true and ping again.
If vid is incorrect, please correct vid and ping again.
 
4) Please contact Ericsson RBS/SIU/PRAN Engineer for further troubleshooting if necessary.

·  Case Study (4): How to cease "RfCable_Disconnected" alarm (RBS)

If there is a "RfCable_Disconnected" alarm during alarm checking, please perform the following steps:

1) Ensure that the RF cables and the connectors are correctly connected and undamaged.2) If any fault are identified, reconnect the cable or replace the faulty cable.

Below is a case study on this alarm:- "RfCable_Disconnected" alarm was found in RBS, this was referred to MO "RfCable=RUW1_9_RXA_IO"

·  Case Study (5): Friendly Reminder for RBS6201 Exp Kit Commissioning - Remember to Unlock E1

In our commissioning procedure of RBS6201 Exp Kit, we need to go through the following procedure for 2100MHz:
~ Before SIU cutover ~
0) Check alarm
1) Change synchronization priority for existing synchronization reference
2) Adding E1 Port
3) Unlock E1 Port
4) Add E1 as synchronization reference
 
~ During SIU cutover ~
5) Turn off RPS and remove defaultRouter1 for IpInterface1 and 2
 
~ After SIU cutover ~
6) Adding PSU at the 1st DUW
7) Adding External Node (for U850 RBS)
8) Remove IpSync from Synchronization Reference
9) Lock IpSyncRef=7 and IpSyncRef=8
10) Create New CV
11) Check alarm
 
 
We found that some commissioning engineers forget to perform step 3) Unlock E1 Port, this affected the stability of RBS and created service impact.
Please forward the e-mail to those engineers and remind them to Unlock E1 Port.
Please also reminder those engineers to check alarm before/after cutover, and before leaving the site.
If there is alarm before commissioning, please contact S-V BTS Team to cease those alarm.

·  Case Study (7): Checking ASC configuration

Before any RBS commissioning activity, please check the configuration of RBS, is there any ASC configured with the RBS. You can find the configuration in the file "config.vsd" for each site.

If you find any ASC configured, please contact SmarTone Jacky for RBS setting before any commissioning start.

·  Case Study (8): Reminder for Installation of 2nd Subrack

This is a case study about installation of 2nd subrack. I called few commissioning engineers to discuss the issue. All engineers are welcome to call me to discuss about the case study. Please kindly forward the e-mail to those commissioning engineers.
 
Alarm "2011-11-11 12:47:30 AL    M DeviceGroup_TemperatureExceptionallyHigh Subrack=1,Slot=1,PlugInUnit=1,PiuDevice=1,DeviceGroup=DUI (temperature_unacceptable)" was appeared in one of RBS6201 after 3rd carrier and U850 expansion.
It was found that the root cause is related to 6 cover plates inside the 2nd subrack was not removed.
 
Below are the procedure to add 2nd subrack:
1) Remove the blocking plates below the existing subrack (one blocking plate under 1st subrack, one blocking plate under the position of 2nd subrack)
2) There are 6 ventilation holes with cover plates in the 2nd subrack. Remove the 6 cover plates, allowing a proper air flow for the new configuration.

3) Installation of DU adaptor.
4) Insert 2nd subrack in the suitable position.

·  Procedure to Cease Alarm Carrier_MaxDlPowerCapabilityOutOfRange

For RBS6601 Commissioning, you may find that the RBS with this alarm "Carrier_MaxDlPowerCapabilityOutOfRange".
Please try below procedure to cease the alarm:
 
1)  change value of dlAttenuation (from the MO AntFeederCable)
Containment (MOM Base) > AntFeederCable=1A>dlAttenuation
 
You man find that those value may be "0 0 0 0 0 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1"
Please change to "30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 -1 -1 -1"
Please apply to all AntFeederCable (e.g AntFeederCable=1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc…)
 
2) uninit the sector
Containment (MOM Base) > NodeBFunction=1, Sector=1> Action > unInitSector
Please do it for all sector.
 
3) init the sector
Containment (MOM Base) > NodeBFunction=1, Sector=1> Action > InitSector
Please fill in the "band" and "no. of Tx" according to the configuration.
Please do it for all sector.
 
4) Please contact Ericsson RBS Engineer if necessary. Thanks!

·  Case Study (3): Iub Connectivity Lost when SIU is Cutover

There is a case study about Iub connectivity is lost when SIU is cutover. I prepare a note for you to troubleshoot this issue.

Background: After cutover of 2100MHz RBS to SIU, PRAN Engineer (Edward, Michael, etc) may inform you that the connectivity of Mub and Iub are OK but RBS Engineer (Jacky) may inform you that Iub is not OK.
 
Procedure:
  1. Check which RNC is used with Smartone RBS Engineer (Jacky)
  2. Check the following configuration in SIU (highlight in red)

5)      Login the SIU again after its restart and commission the SIU once more by loading all the xml files ( the modified WAN, 3G and QOS) as shown in the usual commissioning procedure.
 
6)      subscribe SNMP Subscription in SIU by:

·  Case Study (6): SIU Naming

I found that some of the SIUs which have more than 2 ports always have a naming problem. Please make sure to follow the below naming method.
 
In the IPConfig from Smartone, there is a column AL which indicates the name of SIU:

For example, there is a site which has 4 rbs (2 for U2100 and 2 for U850) and its SIU has 4 Ports created. Checked from the the ip config xls, SIU name (STN_Name in SIU) should be 32360724_31393140 as above picture.
 
DON\'T USE 83236_80724_83139_83140_SIU.
 
Check the naming of SIU in IP config before you set it in your script.
